The May 2025 edition of the HAC 30×30 Virtual Fair was convened to strengthen collaboration between countries and technical assistance providers working toward the implementation of Target 3 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
Held on May 28, 2025, the Fair brought together over 17 organizations to feature their offers of assistance aligned with five thematic priorities:
Organized by the HAC for Nature and People Secretariat, the Virtual Fair allowed government representatives and stakeholders from across the globe to engage directly with implementing partners, explore resources, and establish pathways for future collaboration.
All presentations, supporting materials, and organizational profiles from the event are archived below for continued reference.
This room focused on aligning Target 3 with cross-sector policy frameworks, spatial prioritization tools, and integrated planning strategies. Discussions highlighted the use of spatial prioritization tools, scenario analysis, and data-driven approaches to support transparent, equitable, and science-based decision-making. Emphasis was also placed on integrating conservation priorities with other land and sea uses, including development, climate, and community objectives.
This room focused on expanding the spatial coverage of protected and conserved areas (PAs and OECMs) and enhancing ecological connectivity. It emphasized identifying and integrating priority areas into broader seascapes and landscapes, with support from organizations engaged in mapping, stakeholder engagement, and regional conservation.
This room focused on strengthening the effective and equitable management of protected and conserved areas (PAs and OECMs), with an emphasis on governance, workforce capacity, monitoring, and climate adaptation. It highlighted tools and approaches to assess management effectiveness, enhance marine and terrestrial site performance, and support social equity in conservation outcomes.
This room focused on recognizing and respecting the rights of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs), while promoting the engagement of youth, women, and other underrepresented groups in conservation. It emphasized community-led conservation, inclusive governance, and support for identifying and strengthening Other Effective area-based Conservation Measures (OECMs).
This room centered on monitoring and reporting progress of protected and conserved areas (PAs and OECMs), including holistic Target 3 assessments, conservation outcome indicators, and innovative spatial monitoring tools. It also addressed policy bottlenecks, data platforms, and ways to align restoration and biodiversity targets through effective reporting mechanisms.
