Submission Process & Eligible Partners

The HAC Focal Point is ultimately responsible for selecting the NGO partner and ensuring that the proposed project aligns with national priorities.

Applications must be submitted by the HAC Focal Point through the RDM online platform available on the website. However, RDM funding can only be awarded to the NGO selected by the HAC Focal Point to implement the project in partnership with the national government and relevant agencies.

Please refer to the FAQ section for the list of eligible member countries and the eligibility criteria for local NGOs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a user account?

You cannot create a user account. Only HAC Focal Points can access the online application form. If you are a new HAC Focal Point (new member country or replacing someone), please email domoina.rakotobe@hacfornatureandpeople.org to request your log in credentials.

Do I need to log in to submit an application?

Yes, use your Matchmaking platform credentials.

Can the proposed implementing NGO submit the application?

No, the HAC Focal Point needs to submit electronically. This also confirms that the HAC Focal Point has reviewed, endorsed, and fully supports the submitted application.

What are the eligibility criteria for NGOs?

• Be legally constituted as non-profit and non-governmental organization;
• Have a total annual budget greater than $50,000 USD;
• Possess a computerized financial system for tracking and recording expenses (preferably a professional accounting software);
• Receive a rating of medium to low risk on WRI’s organizational assessment (containing
• questions regarding organization governance, financial and compliance structure), which
• will be carried out once finalists are provisionally selected.
• Be able to provide your organization’s most recent annual audit, or ALL three of the
• following documents: a Balance sheet for the previous two years; an Income Statement for the previous two years; a Cash Flow Statement for the previous two years

Is the RDM grant cycle held yearly?

The HAC for N&P Secretariat aims to organize an annual grant cycle, subject to available funding. We encourage you to submit your application now.

I have already reached my 30x30 target, can I still apply for a grant?

The grant is intended to catalyze greater impact for the implementation of 30×30, the target is not only quantitative but also qualitative. In this sense, the application should show how the grant will be used for this purpose.

Can I propose my current request for financial assistance on the matchmaking platform for RDM consideration?

Yes, if it falls within the 2026 themes but you will still need to complete the RDM application form and adjust the budget not to exceed USD $50,000.

Can I complete the form in other languages (e.g., French or Spanish)?

Yes. The application form online is also available in French and Spanish.

Can I apply again if I applied last year and received a grant?

Yes but you will not have priority as the aim of the RDM is to support as many HAC developing countries as possible.
